Eutelsat expands resilient LEO connectivity across Portugal in partnership with MEO, Portugal’s leading telecommunications operator

Paris, 23 September 2026 – Eutelsat (SIN: FR0010221234 – Euronext Paris / London Stock Exchange: ETL) and MEO, Portugal’s leading telecommunications operator, today announced a new partnership agreement to expand the delivery of Eutelsat’s OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) connectivity services in Portugal.
Under the agreement, MEO will integrate Eutelsat’s OneWeb LEO services into its connectivity solutions, combining satellite, fibre and 5G technologies, to provide resilient backup connectivity for businesses, public administrations, municipalities and critical infrastructure operators across the country.
The agreement builds on a longstanding infrastructure partnership, with MEO hosting Eutelsat’s ground station infrastructure for several years, supporting first its GEO fleet and now the OneWeb LEO constellation. Eutelsat and MEO work closely together to support service continuity and ensure security across both sites.
The expansion into LEO services marks the next step in the partnership, strengthening Eutelsat’s route to market and brings LEO connectivity to a broader range of customers across Portugal. It also demonstrates the growing demand for secure and resilient connectivity delivered through trusted European operators and infrastructure.
