CAM EVO PRO: the new FRANSAT PRO conditional access module for satellite TV reception in residential buildings and public institutions
- Processing up to 16 simultaneous TV channels for optimal DTT multiplex reception
- Compatible with future DTT developments and FRANSAT security updates scheduled for 2026.
Paris, France – 2 December 2025 - Fransat, the Eutelsat subsidiary which operates a DTH platform of DTT channels for the French market, in partnership with software development company, Twise, announces the launch of the CAM EVO PRO. This next-generation conditional access module designed for the FRANSAT PRO service, which distributes France’s DTT channels to collective residences, enables TV reception professionals to anticipate upcoming technological changes, including the evolution of DTT broadcasting and new security standards.
FRANSAT PRO: the satellite DTT solution for residential buildings and public institutions
Fransat provides access to France’s free-to-air DTT channels via Eutelsat’s satellite at 5° West for residences and public sites located in areas beyond terrestrial DTT reception. Over 500,000 users across France use FRANSAT PRO to access DTT from a wide range of locations: residential buildings, social housing, hotels, retirement homes, hospitals, town halls, local terrestrial relay sites and more.
FRANSAT PRO head-ends redistribute TV signals locally, allowing users to receive channels on their TV or DTT set-top box, without any additional proprietary equipment needed.
TV signals are encrypted to ensure secure, reliable access to programming and to safeguard the rights of broadcasters and content providers. The solution includes a decryption module made up of a CI-format (PCMCIA) CAM and a FRANSAT PRO smartcard.
A major efficiency boost for DTT distribution in collective environments
The new CAM EVO PRO can handle up to 16 channels simultaneously, compared to 10 previously, addressing the evolution of DTT multiplexes. Integrated into high-density head-ends capable of descrambling and redistributing several multiplexes simultaneously, the CAM EVO PRO optimises FRANSAT PRO installations, reducing required investment at each site. With the latest VIACCESS-ORCA conditional access technology, the CAM EVO PRO guarantees optimal security and full compatibility with the most recent standards.
“The CAM EVO PRO is a concrete response to the needs of professionals facing the evolution of DTT. The module enables head-end manufacturers and FRANSAT PRO-certified installers to anticipate upcoming changes while optimising their costs and infrastructure to offer more competitive solutions,” said Lydia Gaillard Faghihy, Sales and Marketing Director at Fransat.
A strategic tool for market players
The CAM EVO PRO fits seamlessly into the roadmap of distribution-solution manufacturers who increasingly prioritise modular, cost-optimised architectures. It is now available in a 16-service version, with a 10-service version also to be offered.
“Once again, Fransat is innovating in satellite distribution of DTT channels with the launch of this ultra-efficient solution, and Twise is very proud of this partnership, which further demonstrates the expertise and talent of our team,” added Stéphanie Bizouerne, CEO of Twise.
