  • EUTELSAT 8 West B satellite powered up and now in full commercial service

    Eutelsat Communications announces that its new EUTELSAT 8 West B has been fully powered up and is already broadcasting TV channels to over 52 million homes in the Middle East and North Africa. Launched on August 20 by an Ariane 5 rocket, the new high-power satellite is co-located with a constellation of satellites operated by Eutelsat and Nilesat at the 7/8 degrees West neighbourhood.

  • Azam Media scales up capacity with Eutelsat to expand African Pay-TV Offer

    Azam Media, owned by Tanzanian conglomerate Bakhresa Group, is ramping up satellite capacity through a new transponder leased on the powerful EUTELSAT 7B satellite. Complementing capacity used on the copositioned EUTELSAT 7A satellite, it will host new services for the rapidly growing AzamTV pay-TV platform. The contract was announced today at Cabsat Dubai.

    Eutelsat Communications and Orange have concluded a multi-year agreement for C-band capacity on the EUTELSAT 3B satellite that broadens Orange’s satellite capabilities across Africa. The capacity will support a fast response to enterprises by Orange Business Services for communications anytime, anywhere as well as serve Orange’s own internal requirements.
